Honoring the John Lewis Legacy March

  • Kellogg-Hubbard Library 135 Main Street Montpelier, Vermont, 05602 United States (map)

On Saturday, July 18th Indivisible Calais and Montpelier Indivisible will honor John Lewis’s legacy with a procession through Montpelier. The event will feature posters from last year’s John Lewis Vigil, and drummers from the Waitsfield area.

You can also bring your own signs if the content complements John Lewis’ messages. We plan to meet at the library around 10.30am to assemble. The whole event will take about an hour. It would be great to see you there!

Please let Ulrike know if you want to participate:

Here are some of John Lewis quotes:

“Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”

“You are a light. You are a beacon. You are a star. You are a wonder.”

“If not us, then who? If not now, then when?”

“We have come too far, and we have sacrificed too much, to turn back.”

“The vote is precious. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have.”
