A Special Event: Firsthand Experience with Fascism

  • Maple Corner Community Center 84 West County Road Calais, VT, 05648 United States (map)

We'll be gathering to hear firsthand what it's like to live in a fascist state, and what we collectively can do to block fascism in our own country. Join Indivisible Calais at the Maple Corner Community Center on September 15, 7:00 to 8:30 pm to hear what the future could hold if we don’t fight back NOW!

First, Eileen Simpson, local Calais resident, will speak to us about her experiences and answer questions.

Then, we’ll introduce you to the One Million Rising training, a national grassroots effort to swell the ranks of Americans working to save our democracy.

About Eileen: Eileen has lived in countries sliding into autocracy and emerging from repressive regimes. During her years as an American citizen working for an international organization, she spent time in the former
Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, and other countries. We expect her eye-witness accounts to reinforce the urgency we're all feeling and inspire our One Million Rising actions.

Meet the moment with your friends and neighbors! You’ll learn how successful resistance works against authoritarianism. We’ll discuss a broad variety of actions to suit every activist’s time, commitment, and interest.

It’s going to take every one of us to resist Trump’s authoritarian regime. Please come!
